La presente investigación se realizó en el valle de Chimaltenango, en cinco localidades del altiplano central de Guatemala, con el objetivo de evaluar la formación de variedades sintéticas e híbridos varietales de maíz Maíz con alto rendimiento. La metodología utilizada consistió en el establecimiento de 28 cruzas dialélicas entre ocho variedades progenitoras de polinización libre, evaluadas mediante el diseño IV de Griffing para determinar aptitud combinatoria general y específica. Los resultados evidenciaron diferencias significativas en la aptitud combinatoria general y predominio de la varianza genética aditiva, con heredabilidad del 55%, identificándose las variedades V-301, V-302, Sutuj, V-304 y B-71 como materiales promisorios para síntesis varietal. |
