La presente investigación se realizó en el altiplano medio de Guatemala, específicamente en el área de Chimaltenango, con el propósito de identificar los mejores materiales criollos de maíz para impulsar su producción comercial, determinar sus características agronómicas y ejemplificar la estimación de parámetros de estabilidad. Se empleó un diseño experimental comparativo donde se evaluaron 16 variedades criollas frente a cuatro mejoradas mediante análisis de estabilidad y comportamiento genotipo-ambiente. Los resultados demostraron que varias variedades criollas presentaron alto potencial de rendimiento, buena adaptabilidad y estabilidad productiva, evidenciando su viabilidad para programas de mejoramiento genético y producción nacional sostenida. |
