| Summary, etc | El presente documento denominado trabajo de graduación se divide en tres capítulos: Primero está el Diagnóstico General del Municipio de Santa Clara La Laguna; como segundo se presenta la investigación titulada “Caracterización biofísica y de manejo agronómico del sistema productivo maíz (Zea Mayz L.) – frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) en el municipio de Santa Clara La Laguna, Sololá, Guatemala, C.A.”; siendo el tercer capítulo lo concerniente a los servicios desarrollados en las comunidades del municipio, efectuado durante el Ejercicio Profesional Supervisado en el período de febrero a noviembre del año 2010. Para obtener la información primaria que enriquece el diagnóstico, se cuestionaron factores sociales, culturales, económicos, ambientales y productivos, básicamente en lo que respecta a la producción agrícola del municipio. Esta información fue analizada e interpretada con el propósito que los resultados fueran la guía para determinar posibles soluciones a partir de la jerarquización de problemas. En la información secundaria se recurrió a revisiones bibliográficas pertinentes sobre el municipio y demás temas relacionados a la Cuenca del Lago de Atitlán. Con los resultados obtenidos por el diagnóstico se identificó los principales problemas que posee el municipio, buscando a través de la investigación desarrollada y los servicios brindados una respuesta a estos problemas. Los principales problemas localizados fueron deterioro ambiental y sobre utilización de los recursos naturales locales. Los insumos agrícolas utilizados para la producción de maíz y frijol son sintéticos, tanto los fertilizantes como los pesticidas. En el caso de los fertilizantes se determinó que se suministra al suelo cantidades poco adecuadas, alejadas de los requerimientos nutricionales de los cultivos. La implementación de pesticidas es relativamente escasa, sin embargo, los productores que los utilizan, sobre dosifican al momento de aplicar. Los servicios brindados en la comunidad, buscan incentivar en los productores a los cuales se les asistió, a que tengan como objetivo principal en su producción, la sostenibilidad, a partir de la diversificación de cultivos, utilización de abonos orgánicos, manejo adecuado los agroquímicos y por la vocación que poseen los suelos del municipio, a producir a través de sistemas agroforestales. |
